Classic Black & White

I was recently in a black and white swap, and I want to share one of the two cards I created.  The rules were: black, white and just a splash of color.

I love the drama of a black and white card, and I love my background stamps!  Here's what I used:
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink:  Black Staz-on
Stamps:  Sunflower background, Nature Walk
Accessories:  5/8" Basic Black satin ribbon (retiring), Daffodil Delight marker

Today's Tip:
When I ink a background stamp, I use a brayer to get even coverage, but in this case, I did not want to get the black Staz-on ink all over the brayer so I applied the ink directly from the pad.  I learned something new this time.   I  leave the stamped background stamp face up, then layer my cardstock covered with a scrap of paper.  This time I used the long flat edge of my bone folder to rub across the inked image so that I got a really good print, even on all of the edges.  I hope this tip helps!

Well, I'm trying to wait patiently for Mr. Brown to arrive.  My new catalog and sneak peek items are arriving today.  I'll be back to share some of that tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by!  Leave me a comment to let me know what you think!

Blessings,
Barbara
