Swallowtail Song

Happy Saturday, and welcome to my blog! Grab your cup of coffee and check out the card I created for this week's Utah Divas International sketch. You can find links to all of the cards and designers here, and below is the sketch for the week, UDISC238. This month's sketches are all by Tammy Fite.

I really like the clean and simple sketch this week, so I tried to keep this clean and simple too.  I wanted to let the stamp do the talking, and I think I succeeded.  This swallowtail stamp is so beautiful!

 All of the details ~
  • Stamps ~ Swallowtail
  • Papers ~ Whisper White, Pool Party
  • Inks ~ Versamark, Pool Party
  • Accessories ~White embossing powder, heat gun, sponge dauber, white organdy ribbon, vintage faceted designer buttons, pearls
The How To's ~
  • Use Versamark to ink the Swallowtail stamp.
  • With inked stamp facing up, place Pool Party paper on top of stamp and press down firmly.
  • Heat emboss image with white embossing powder.
  • Use a sponge dauber to add Pool Party ink on top of the embossed image.  It really "pops" all of the details in this beautiful image.
What do you think?  I love to hear your comments!

Here in New Jersey, we have been enjoying a spectacular spring!  There are splashes of yellow everywhere, from wildly blooming forsythia to daffodils.  My tulips are up, the pear trees, cherry trees and magnolias are blooming, and the best is yet to come!  Dogwood, azaleas, lilacs, rhododendrons... northern New Jersey will be a riot of color from now until Mother's Day.  If I have  time, I will take some photos and share them with you.  I think spring is my most favorite time of the year, with fall coming in a close second.

Blessings,
Barbara
