Saturday Sketch Challenges

I didn't have a chance to do last week's sketch, and I had an idea that I wanted to try.  I thought of a Japanese tea house when I saw the sketch, and when I saw this week's DIVA IC 140, it pushed me over the edge! Here is last week's sketch and the card I created.  If at any time a link is missing you can head over to the UDI blog to get back on track.

I flipped the layout vertically so the stamp set would work. I'm really pleased with the results.  Here's the recipe.

Stamps:  Dream Gardens, Circle Circus, Inspired by Nature
Paper:  Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso and Vellum
Inks:  Wild Wasabi and Cajun Craze

Now on to this week's sketch.

I just got the Extreme Skateboard stamp today, and it was free!  I earned it with Sale-a-Bration.  Here's the recipe for the card.

Stamps:  Extreme Elements, Extreme Skateboard
Papers:  Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Baja Breeze,  Soft Suede
Inks:  Early Espresso,  Baja Breeze,  Soft Suede
Accessories:  Square Lattice embossing folder, Stampin' dimensionals

If you are following the UDI Saturday Sketch team, the next stop is Elizabeth's blog.  I'm sure she has something fabulous to show us.  If you have a little time, you might like to take a peek at some of my other posts from this week.  I have been busy stamping!

Thanks for stopping by, and as always, I love to read your comments!

  1. WOW! The teahouse card is amazing! Why don't I ever think about using vellum? Thanks for the reminder! Not that I would have come up with anything close to that! Awesome!

And... the skateboarding card is pretty awesome, too! I've had the stamp set for awhile now, because my nephew is pretty sure he's then next Tony Hawkes. I'm always looking for new ways to use that stamp so he doesn't get the same card all the time. :)

  2. oh my. not one, but two great cards. love love love your take on last weeks. very unique.
this week's is incredible also. love how the differnt cuts of your 'spirals' help create movement. great job!!! xox

  3. Oh my stars, you've been busy! What great ideas and techniques for both cards, both of which I'll be lifting! Both unique, but I sure especially love the skateboarding card, you should submit it to a publication.

  4. Gorgeous!!!!! That's all I can say! I love both cards!

  5. Not one, but two amazing cards! Wow! I love them!
